Feb 16, 2019The Memorial Day weekend has arrived, and for many the weekend plans include a visit to a local cemetery to honor U.S. service men and women who have passed away.Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day was first observed on May 30, 1868 as a day in which the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers would be decorated with flowers.
